About Meinert Park

Tucked away at the north end of the county, Meinert Park offers a quiet retreat for the outdoor enthusiast. Sitting on 182 acres with rolling dunes, the park provides scenic overlooks with spectacular views of Little Flower Creek and the Lake Michigan shoreline. Visitors can climb a trail to the top of a dune for a panoramic view of lake Michigan and the surrounding countryside.

Directions to Meinert Park

Meinert County Park is located on Lake Michigan north of Montague at the end of Meinert Road. Take U.S. 31 to the Fruitvale Road Exit, go right (west) on Fruitvale Road to Old 31, turn right (north) and follow Old 31 one (1) mile to Meinert Road, turn left (west). The park entrance is approximately 5 miles at Lake Michigan.

Fees at Meinert Park

Motor Vehicle Entry Permit:
A Muskegon County Motor Vehicle Entry Permit will be required for all vehicles entering Meinert County Park. The permit may be purchased at check in time.

Daily: $ 5.00
Annual: $20.00

Overnight Campsite:
Per day: $36.00

Meinert Park Picnic Shelter

A shelter is available to rent for family reunions, company and church picnics or other group activities where shelter is desired. The shelter offers picnic tables with seating for approximately forty (40) people, electrical outlets for crock pots, coffee pots, etc. and a large park grill for cooking.

8:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.
$50 per day

Meinert Park Cottage

A shelter is available to rent for family reunions, company and church picnics or other group activities where shelter is desired. The shelter offers picnic tables with seating for approximately forty (40) people, electrical outlets for crock pots, coffee pots, etc. and a large park grill for cooking.

Accommodates maximum of 6 people.

You will need to bring cleaning items, bedding, towels, soaps and other personal items.

Rental Hours:
The cottage may be rented by the day with a two (2) day minimum or by the week (7 days maximum). Check out time is at 11:00 a.m. Sunday and check in time is after 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Rental Rates:
Memorial Weekend to Labor Day
Per week: $900.00

Before Memorial Weekend and After Labor Day
Per day: $100.00

Lodge/Shelter/Rental Cabins

Cancellations can be made via the call center at 231-744-3580. Cancellations made up to close of business 7 days prior to your scheduled arrival date will incur the $10 cancellation fee. If you cancel 6 days or less prior to the arrival date, you will forfeit the first night’s fee or $75, whichever is the lesser amount. There is a $10 fee assessed for all changes made to your reservation, except for adding nights to the reservation.

Muskegon County Parks accepts cash and checks on-site. Credit cards can be used for online campsite reservations and on-site at Pioneer Park, Meinert Park, Twin Lake Park, and Blue Lake Park.
